The CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) is a five-day training course designed for supervisors and managers who are responsible for planning and safely managing crane and lifting operations on construction sites
The A61 Appointed Person Course equips successful delegates with the appropriate knowledge and skills required to safely plan and carry out lifting operations. Candidates will learn the roles and responsibilities of key personnel, understand legal and industry requirements and the ability to identify suitable cranes, lifting accessories and techniques for various load types.
The practical element of this course covers equipment setup, positioning and safe load handling, including the use of Rated Capacity Indicators, outriggers and boom extensions. Delegates will also be trained in hazard management, securing loads and safe working practices, ensuring competence in both standard and complex lifting operations.
