The ECITB route for abrasive wheels, written for engineering construction sites. Safe selection, mounting and use, plus the risk assessment that has to sit behind it.

Who it's for

Anyone mounting or using abrasive wheels on engineering construction and nuclear new build sites. The NPORS N301 route covers the same ground where a card is preferred.

  • Wheel types, markings and maximum speeds
  • Storage, handling and pre-use inspection
  • Mounting, dressing and truing a wheel
  • Guarding, PPE and positioning
  • Common causes of wheel failure
  • Risk assessment and safe systems of work

Assessment & certification

Theory and practical assessment on the final day. Successful candidates are registered with the awarding body and issued the relevant card or certificate.
